The Children’s Library is located on the second floor of the John E. Rovensky Administration Building, is free and open to the public. We invite children to borrow books, use the computers, and enjoy special events programs free of charge.

Throughout the year, exhibitions of special interest to young people are held in the Mary Alice Fortin Children’s Art Gallery located in the Children’s Library on the second floor of the John E. Rovensky Administration Building.

Last season, the Children’s Library provided 250 programs for children of all ages!

Preschool Story Time
Society of the Four Arts, Preschool Story Time at the Children's LibraryThe Children's Library offers free Preschool Story Time to children ages birth to four-years-old. at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, October through April.

On Mondays preschoolers complete an arts & crafts project; and on Tasty Thursdays preschoolers complete a snack creation.

 

Family Story Time
The Children’s Library offers Family Story Time, a free program for children eight years of age and younger at 10:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month, November through April.  An arts & crafts project is included.

 

School Age Programs
Programs for school-aged children are offered during the season (November through April) on select weekdays and Saturdays.

Programs for the 2012-2013 season include:

  • Floral Design with Mrs. Vickie Denton
  • Fun Chefs with Ms. Stacey Stolman (Note: A medical release and an emergency care form must be completed and notarized before child can participate in their first Fun Chefs class. The Four Arts will not have a notary available.  Click here to download both forms.)

Field Trip Opportunities
The Society of the Four Arts is pleased to offer free field trip opportunities.  The Four Arts Children’s Library offers programs and activities that can be customized for your school group and grade level.  For more information, click here

The Children's Library Newsletter

The Four Arts Children's Library produces several newsletters a year to keep parents informed of all the newest programs being offered through our library.  Upon visiting the Children's Library, you will have an opportunity to fill out a library card free of charge.  This card allows you to check out materials from the Children's Library and your information can be added to the Children's Library mailing list for future newsletter mailings. Go paperless! Submit your e-mail address at the top of this page, then when you are redirected to the next page make sure to check off "The Children's Library Newsletter" e-mail group before you click submit at the bottom.
