Award-winning author and international genealogical impresario Brenton Simons will discuss one of the hottest topics today ― the fascinating world of popular genealogy and genetics. Millions of Americans are tracing their family histories and genealogical DNA websites. Examine the roots of this movement, where is it going, and the steps each of us should take to ensure that our family histories and personal legacies are collected, honored, and preserved. Brenton Simons is President & CEO of AmericanAncestors.org and the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, the nation’s founding genealogical institution. It holds more than 1.4 billion records, and it is the anchor location of the popular PBS series “Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr.”
