Jon Meacham discusses The Declaration of Independence

Jon Meacham is a Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer and a New York Times best-selling author. His latest book, “The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels,” was released in May 2018. His “American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House” was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2009. His other New York Times best-sellers include works on George H.W. Bush, Thomas Jefferson, and “Franklin and Winston,” among others. Meacham is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the Society of American Historians. He is a distinguished visiting professor at Vanderbilt University, contributing writer to The New York Times Book Review, a contributing editor of TIME, and has written for The New York Times op-ed page, The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, and many others.
