April 15, 16, 17, 18, 19
Class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (including lunch)
This course is intended for intermediate and advanced watermedia students, those with at least two years experience with watercolor medium.
The class emphasizes color theory and design while incorporating texture into your own work. Those students who do not want to work on textures but wish to receive help with color and design on their own paintings are also welcome.
Specifically, landscape elements will be addressed. Students are encouraged to work from reference or photos they take at The Society of the Four Arts.
Various textural items will be covered, including:
- Underpaintings (flat washes, leaving white shapes, imprinting, etc).
- Painting on various surfaces (clayboard, yupo, paper treated with 1⁄2 and 1⁄2 acrylic matte or gel medium, gesso, etc).
- Using 1⁄2 and 1⁄2 acrylic matte or gel medium mix at any time during the layering process and as a masking agent.
- Lifting techniques
- Making stamps and Stamping techniques
Tickets: $425 for five classes, including lunch
Due to limited space, reservations are required for every program.
