Drypoint etching is a great medium for artists who love to draw! In this workshop, artists will learn how to create a drypoint etching; a very direct intaglio method of printmaking. From Rembrandt to Edward Hopper, painters have especially taken to this method because of the range of value and quality of line. Beginner to advanced artists will acquire drypoint etching and inking techniques, and print an edition of prints on a small etching press.

Presented in conjunction with the art exhibition Rembrandt: The Sign and The Light.

Sammi McLean is a Florida-native and hybridized maker, working with installation and new technology through the lens of printmaking. McLean has taught printmaking classes at various local institutions including the Norton Museum of Art, Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and Armory Art Center. McLean received her MFA from Florida Atlantic University in Printmaking, teaches as an adjunct professor at FAU and serves as the Workshop and Gallery Coordinator for IS Projects in Fort Lauderdale, FL .
