From vistas of power to visions of delight, iconic French gardens not only reflect changes in taste and horticultural practices, but also reveal the spirit of their times. In a survey of remarkable gardens from the Loire Valley to Giverny, Page Knox will explore the changing nature of garden design from the 1500s to the early 20th century. Dr. Knox is an adjunct professor in the Art History Department of Columbia University.
