ELIZABETH HOROWITZ

February 6, 13, 20, 27;  March 6, 13

Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Capture the unique essence of the tropics through varied subject matter with confidence in watercolor. From orchids to tropical birds, saltwater fish and ocean vistas this six week workshop will provide a solid foundation and review of appropriate watercolor techniques. Composition, color, design, color theory, light and shadow, and perspective will be discussed.

Working from color and black and white reference photos provided by the instructor, students will begin with a pencil sketch and be guided step by step towards the completion of an exquisite painting during class. The course is open to all levels and students are encouraged to paint in their own style. Class will close with a critique.

Elizabeth Horowitz is a member of the Society of Illustrators, the Garden State Watercolor Society, and a signature member of North East Watercolor Society. A teacher of art, Horowitz authored, Watercolor, A Beginners; Guide (Watson-Guptill/Random House).
