Eighty-six years ago, The Society of the Four Arts began its work with numerous art world luminaries. Exhibitions ranged from small watercolor exhibitions and local art shows to artistic treasures that today grace the walls of museums. In The Four Arts’ early days, relationships with leading collectors were developed, which resulted in loans of priceless masterpieces. Michel Witmer, Chairman of the Fine Art Committee at The Society of the Four Arts, discusses the paintings from 86 years of exhibitions, the state of the Society’s current art collection, and possible future directions.
