Fundamentals of Freedom

Born in North Korea, Yeonmi Park grew up in a punishing society where the concept of freedom did not exist.  At age 13, she and her family made a daring escape, crossing a frozen river and three mountains to get to the Chinese border. This articulate and candid speaker — whose talks have been seen around the world — tells her electrifying story of escape and urges us to recognize — and resist — the oppression that exists in North Korea and around the world. She advocates for speaking up for those who cannot speak themselves.
