Field Trip Opportunities

As part of our commitment to community outreach, The Four Arts offers free field trips, story times, and programs that can be customized for your school, children’s group, or organization. Degreed librarians facilitate all story time and field trip programming.

The minimum number of students required for group reservations is 18. The Four Arts offers additional transportation funding for The School District of Palm Beach County. Inquire with your bookkeeper or the Children’s Library.

Miami City Ballet For Young People, “Fantasy, Fire, and Fun: A Journey Through Ballet’s Beloved Stories”

Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Ballet for Young People is an interactive performance that is fun and engaging for all learners. With a dynamic live narration, the audience is captivated with dance and experiences fully costumed excerpts from the Ballet’s enchanting A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the fiery Don Quixote and the beloved Nutcracker – all inspired by great works of literature. Students and teachers learn through all the senses and take with them a fold out educational guide. Miami City Ballet exists to impact people’s lives through the transformative power of dance.

Fine Arts Guided Visit

Visit the Illustrating Words exhibition, The Four Arts Sculpture and Botanical Gardens, and the O’Keeffe Gallery with this new field trip offering. No arts & crafts activity included. Availability is limited. Select Fridays during the months of December through March. The free program can be customized for your school group. Reservations begin on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

Story Time Programs for your School Group

The Children’s Library is pleased to offer curriculum-based story times for your school group or organization. These free story times include themed arts & crafts and other group activities customized for any grade level. Reservations begin on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.

Art Exhibition in the Mary Alice Fortin Children’s Art Gallery

Illustrating Words: The Wondrous Fantasy World of Robert L. Forbes, poet, and Ronald Searle, artist

This exhibition, organized by The Society of the Four Arts, features the inventive and whimsical words of Robert L. Forbes and Ronald Searle’s joyful watercolor illustrations. Rich with color and fanciful detail, the drawings capture the spirit and essence of each poem. The delightful collaboration of these two artists invites the viewer to expand their imagination, creativity and appreciation of words brought further to life with illustration. Ronald Searle was considered one of the world’s top illustrators, producing drawings for Life Magazine, The New Yorker, and numerous British publications. Robert Forbes has published three books and is a widely recognized children’s author. This free program can be customized for any grade level. Visit includes poetry reading, gallery viewing, and thematic arts and crafts. Reserve a field trip beginning Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Approved in Palm Beach County for K-12th. Select Wednesday and Friday mornings are available.

 ESchool-District-Imageducational Note: This exhibit has been approved by The School District of Palm Beach County for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Standards: English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Visual Arts.
